About This Service Area
Culbreath Bayou and neighboring Culbreath Heights are defined by two things: the bayou that winds through them and the oak canopy above them. The housing stock is largely 1950s and 1960s ranch, much of it beautifully renovated, with long low rooflines that light very differently from a two-story facade. Our landscape lighting approach here leans on horizontal grazing along those rooflines and eaves, with tree uplighting in the canopy to give the property height.
On the bayou side, we light the water's edge with shielded fixtures that define the bank without throwing glare across the water — important both for the view and for the herons and wildlife that use the bayou. Elsewhere we run pathway lighting along walks and driveways and use garden lighting to build depth in the beds. All fixtures are brass or copper rated for the humidity and brackish exposure that comes with a bayou address.

Common Questions
Horizontally. Wide-beam wash and grazing fixtures spaced along the facade emphasize the long roofline, and we use the landscape and trees for vertical interest instead of trying to force height out of the building.
We design to avoid it. Fixtures on the water side are shielded, warm-toned, low-output, and aimed downward or inward — never out across the water — which keeps light off the surface and out of nesting areas.
Yes. Brackish water and South Tampa humidity are hard on hardware, so we use solid brass and copper throughout with sealed connectors. They carry a 20-year warranty.
Most Culbreath Bayou and Culbreath Heights systems run $3,000 to $9,000, with bayou-front properties toward the upper end when the water frontage is included.
